If you or someone you know and love has an addiction problem and are looking for help, the programs and staff at MIA, KC are some of the best. Each person is seen as just that, a Person first! They are treated with respect and dignity. The programs are tailored around each individual, and not a cookie cutter program. Each recovery is celebrated and viewed as a great achievement. Every one knows that recovery is a life style, so there is continued support at MIA long after exiting a program. Support cannot end with graduating from a program, it must be life long. MIA gets it! The staff get it! The phone rings just the same for someone in recovery as for someone still fighting the good fight.

MIA is by far one of the best facilities I have ever been to. I have never been anywhere that has such excellent and caring staff, an amazing doctor and therapists that are so easy to talk to even if their aren't your therapist they always have a smile on their face and come from a great perspective. MIA has changed my life for the better and I will forever and always recommend people to this place. Not only do they help you get clean but they help you stay clean and are by your side 100% of the way through it also. Thanks to MIA, my life has been bettered and I can't thank them enough for helping me become the person I am meant to be

I want to thank the MIA staff for their service and dedicated treatment to my friend. They were caring and accomidated his crazy life and made it affordable for his family. My friend was suffering from an addiction and with their treatment plan my friend has gotten back to a pilar in his community and a productive father, husband and employee.

Dr Buhler was amazing and truly cared about my daughter and her sobriety. It has been a heart wrenching journey and I didnt feel much compassion from anyone else at MIA. It was more about the $$$, my daughter was being charged for full therapy sessions and counseled for sometimes 15 min and sent home. I wish we could continue to see Dr Buhler but cannot since he is only with their program. My daughter has since found a much better therapist that wants to help her with the trauma she experienced. These patients are there because they truly want help, they are not court ordered, only private insuranced. MIA also has zero tolerance which I understand for accountability but these patients are addicts, they will relapse, but want to keep fighting without being discarded or feeling alone. They will have good days and bad days, show some compassion. Thank you Dr Buhler, you made a positive difference with my daughter.

I started at Midwest Institute for addiction when they first opened, which at the time was called `I Care' & I was their very first patient... When I met Dr Peterson and his wife Jen, I couldn't believe how much they cared about me as a person! I was addicted for about 17 yrs, and they never once treated me, nor looked at me as a`bad person! They actually treated me completely opposite! They honestly couldn't believe I was still alive and really wanting to be clean as bad as I did... Before they opened I was in contact with both of them over the phone. I could call them on their personal lines anytime I wanted, and believe me I did! I would cry my eyes out to them, and they listened never once making me feel like I was burdening them!..I waited for 3 months until they opened and of course, I was still getting high every day, but at the same time marking the days off of the calendar, telling everybody that I hung out with how excited I was to be getting clean!.... I will never in my life forget them, or the day that I met them for the first time, and how many times they would tell me I was a very strong person, that I was going to make it, that I was an example of the worst of the worst when it came to being addicted and I was going to make it in the end with an amazing success story to share with others like me... I will always love them both for all that they've done for me, and even though they did moved away, and changed the name, and staff, I still love Midwest Institute for Addiction and I always will! ❤️ the doctor and the staff that works there now care as well, and I just love my counselor Angie! She is so easy to talk to, and you can tell her anything, and she's always got a solution and a smile on her face😄.. I definitely have and will continue to recommend Midwest Institution for addiction to anybody and everybody who needs help and wants it! Thank you all so much for helping me save my life and get all I lost back again! ❤️

I came to MIA after my third DUI in January. I have continued treatment here since that time. The staff here has been so incredibly supportive and caring. Kendra, the secretary is always encouraging every time I see her. You know she truly cares about the clients. The providers discuss things in a way that I understand which is important to me because I have learned so much about myself and alcoholism. I have recommended this facility to several close friends and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone that is questioning if they have an alcohol or drug addiction problem or who are seeking treatment. My life is changing in ways I felt may not be possible again. They truly care about changing lives and assist you in living a healthy life of sobriety. I have gone through some really difficult times and never thought talking to someone would be as beneficial as it has been. One of the ways MIA is set apart from and is different than other places, is the holistic approach to treatment. I see a physician, a therapist, and have group discussions several times a week. I have never been to a place that provided all the aspects of care that I need in one place which is why I know MIA is the best.

I have been going to Dr.Peterson for almost two years now and he's a amazing doctor who really does care about your sobriety and you, him and his wife Jen have always treated me great and been amazing, recently they changed there name, staff and building, since then I have had nothing but issues, Jen is no longer working in the office and half the people I speak to are out of St Louis and are the most rude disrespectful people who only care about $$$$$$, I have been on my meds with no issues never relapsed always paid, well today the day I'm scheduled for a appointment and out of medicine I'm told out of nowhere that I cannot be seen and won't be seen until I pay 500 and was told I had a outstanding balance which was caused by a misunderstanding when they switched over what I would pay no biggie I pay everytime and told her I would pay more than the 350$ I was suppose to pay but I couldn't pay 500 today so she refused to see me and I'm out of medicine!! This new practice does not care about there patients or sobriety, Dr Peterson and Jen would of never done something like this to me..and its sad they have took over and are ruining Dr.Peterson good reputation now..I'm extremely upset and I will never ever return here thanks to Midwest institute for addiction taking over !!
